Acts of Kindness

Gift of Sanity
I was at the store the other day with my almost 3 year old, who was on the verge of desperation for a nap, when this lovely lady in front of me in the long check out line, leaned over and said the most beautiful words a mother in this situation could hear.... You can go ahead of me.... The kindness I felt was amazing and helped my sanity.

I ask you just be honest!
I woke up one morning to realize that we were out of coffee...I would love to say I did not care....but I need my morning coffee to survive. I pulled on some clothes, jumped in the car and drove to the near by Dunkin Donuts for a coffee treat. I stood in line for quit a long time because everyone else there could not survive without coffee and some donuts. As I reached the counter I ordered. I would like 2 medium coffee's with cream and sugar and 2 donuts, I can not come home with Dunkin Donuts coffee without some donuts of my girls would be crushed...I love when they smile anyways. The clerk said my total and I pulled out my debit card, who has cash these days, and started to hand it over. The man behind the counter apologized, something was wrong with there credit card machine and they could only take cash. I stood there for a moment stuck. I don't has cash, the kind man said don't worry just come in and pay me later....I was stunned...I ask what I could do, like an IOU or give him my name and he reached with amazingly wonderful words that will remain with me forever...He looked into my eyes and just said...I don't need anything, just for you to be honest...I walked out with my coffee, donuts, and a whole new thought about human kindness. I returned home, told the story to my daughter, my husband and almost felt like crying....I felt moved. People don't interact like that anymore. I returned to the Dunkin Donuts right away to honor the man and express my gratitude for what he had given me. That was the sweetest cup of coffee I ever enjoyed.
